 2420 N Street, studio 130, Sacramento, CA, 95816

Capital Stage will hold General Auditions for its 2022/23 Season as follows:

Sun, June 26, 2022, from 10am–6pm
Mon, June  27, 2022, from Noon–8pm

Auditions will be held at the CLARA (E. Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts).

At these auditions we are seeking AEA and non-AEA actors for workshops, readings, and full productions. Capital Stage is committed to diversity, and we encourage performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and ages, as well as performers with disabilities, to attend every audition.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of audition.

Auditions are by Appointment Only. Please request an appointment and submit your headshot and resume to casting@capstage.org.

Include your preferred appointment date, time and any times on the audition dates that you would not be available to audition. Preference will be given to AEA members, then EMC candidates then Non-Equity actors in order of submission.

If you cannot or do not wish to attend the in-person audition, you may submit two contrasting monologues together totaling no more than three minutes by email to casting@capstage.org.

Please state your name, union status, location, and the piece(s) you’re auditioning with as well. Video formats accepted are  .mp4, .MOV, Vimeo, Google Drive, and YouTube, with a preference for a URL over a file.

Everyone entering the audition venue (i.e., venue employees, Equity members, non-members, casting personnel, creatives, producers, musicians, COVID Safety Managers, etc.) will be required to undergo a symptom check and provide Proof of full vaccination. “Fully vaccinated,” as defined by the CDC, is more than 14 calendar days following receipt of a final dose of an FDA or World Health Organization authorized or approved vaccine.

If the risk level for Sacramento is trending upwards and may rise to High (Red) we will contact auditioners with appointments at least 24 hours before the first audition appointment time to let them know there is a chance that the auditions may need to be postponed or cancelled. All those with appointments will be notified if the auditions must be postponed or cancelled.

We encourage everyone to prepare for their audition at home, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.

Submission Deadline is 11:59 pm PST – Mon, June 27, 2022
