Luther Gerlach is one of the photographers responsible for the resurgence of wet-plate collodion photography in contemporary art. He has demonstrated photographic processes at the J.Paul Getty center for 20 years. He travels the world in a converted darkroom bus for mammoth plates and created the only existing see-through, functional camera and darkroom chamber where small plates are shot and processed before your eyes.
Gerlach will also lead a lecture on Thursday, April 12.
Note: Please feel welcome to stop during any part of the demonstration. Seating will be available. This event will take place at the lawn near the iconic oak on campus.
This event is part of Photography Month Sacramento.
