Time Machine: Sacramento: Inspiration, Reinterpret...

Time Machine: Sacramento: Inspiration, Reinterpret...

Presented by Photography Month Sacramento at Robert T. Matsui Gallery at City Hall

As part of Sacramento’s first Photography Month, the Center for Sacramento History and The Focus Group are partnering in a photographic exhibit. The title of the show will be "Time Machine: Sacramento - Inspiration, Reinterpretation, Compilation."

Utilizing historic images in the collections of the Center, eight professional photographers from The Focus Group will select an historic image of Sacramento and then photograph the same location as it looks today. Each will then use their creative skills to produce a third photograph that is a combination of the historic and the present day image.

The exhibit demonstrates how early photography is a window into the past, documents the present, and can inspire creative reinterpretation today.

Contributing photographers are:
-John Swain
-Persia Nelson
-Charr Crail
-Dave Brooks
-Gene Kennedy
-Hal Hammond
-Michael Dunlavey
-Donald Satterlee
