Photographing the California Automobile Museum: A ...

Presented by California Automobile Museum and Photography Month Sacramento at California Automobile Museum

Cars and cameras...what could be better than combining two hobbies into one great photography workshop! Join Canon Live Learning instructors Jim Rose and Dave Henry in a program designed to help you make great images of cars from all eras -- from a 1886 Benz to modern day classics.

During this Canon Live Learning photography workshop, guests are encouraged to bring their tripods and Speedlites to take advantage of unprecedented access before normal museum hours to photograph some truly great automobiles. Shoot with your Canon “dream” lenses and camera bodies. We will have gear for loan on site.

The museum will provide models in period costumes and even a driving demonstration of the 1886 Benz. Get your DSLR video ready.

There will have multiple flash stations to set up, so you can learn how to use wireless radio controlled Speedlites. What’s more, we will hold demonstrations on using tilt-shift lenses for hood ornaments and automobile details. Finally, we will teach you how to create custom white balance in mixed light environments.

Even though this workshop is sponsored by Canon, all camera brands are welcome so don’t miss this only opportunity to photograph classic cars in a private non-public setting.

Schedule:
April 21:
-4pm-5:30pm: Orientation and walk-thru of the museum to give you a preview of the location.

April 22:
-7am-10am: Workshop participants will have the museum to themselves. Signage and chains will be removed and, in some cases, cars will be moved to give you full views of the cars.
