During Photography Month Sacramento, The Brickhouse House Gallery is showcasing a little music! The gallery is delighted to have Carlos and Brennen return with its concert, A Trio of Centuries. Some of the composers in their repertoire include Wilson Osborne, Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, and local composer Cody Bennett.
These accomplished African-American artists began performing as a duo in 2016. They have performed together at the E. Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts auditorium (CLARA), Westminster Presbeterian Church, as well as the Sacramento International Airport. They are excited to bring their music to a wider audience through their public performances.
Through their performances, Carlos and Brennen also hope to highlight the experience of minorities in the arts, while conveying uplifting social messages. Both Carlos and Brennen perform on traditional orchestral instruments to present an exciting tonal experience to their audience. While upholding tradition in that sense, the duo is not afraid to bring the scores to life in their own distinct style.
Both Carlos and Brennen earn their livelihoods as dedicated music instructors in the local community. Carlos teaches elementary school students in Elk Grove, and Brennen provides individual private instruction.
