Sacramento’s Armenian Food Festival celebrates its 71st year highlighting Armenian food and culture, making it one of the longest running food festivals in the region.
“Sacramento has embraced Armenian-Americans for 100 years. This is our opportunity to share with the community our gourmet cuisine, festive dance, and vibrant culture,” said Rev. Fr. Yeghishe Ksachikyan, Parish Priest of Sacramento’s St. James Armenian Apostolic Church.
New for 2018 is a featured mezzeh menu -- in Armenia, appetizers (mezzeh) are a really big deal! Food Fest guests can enjoy a mezzeh plate of lamajoon, cheese bourag, rice grape leaves, and salad.
Traditional lunch includes a full menu of traditional favorites from lamb shanks, barbecue shish kabob, rice grape leaves, kufta/stuffed meat balls, cheese bouregs, and sweet delicacies.
Entertainment and dancing will occur throughout the day, including dance lessons for Armenian line dances, a concert dance program, and local singers.
