CapRadio welcomes established painter Stan Padilla to the station for an afternoon of art, music and discussion.
A multi-media artist whose disciplines include drawing, painting and silversmithing, Stan Padilla recognizes his ancestors by bringing to life ancient stories, myths, and legends. His large panels of varied blue honor one of the most precious colors in the spectrum. Padilla’s work can be seen across the Sacramento region, most recently as a three-story mural titled “Flight” in the Golden One Area. A participating Wide Open Walls (WOW) muralist, Padilla will live paint in downtown Sacramento August 9-19. Join in for a special discussion with Padilla on August 11.
Enjoy music from Hey, Listen! host Nick Brunner. Sample C.G. Di Arie Winery's limited-edition "On Air" (which was created in honor of the station). SacTown Union Brewing will also be pouring from their limited Local Artist Series, proudly showcasing local art on its beer cans, including another 2018 WOW muralist.
Come learn what all the hype is about and then head downtown to enjoy the mural festival throughout the week.
Note: Art is on display at Capital Public Radio July 30- October 26, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.
