Hornet Football season is almost here! Coming off of a historic 2017 season, Sacramento State opens the season ranked among the top 25 in the Football Championship Subdivision for just the second time in school history. The Hornets were voted 19th by street & Smith’s and 23rd by Athlon Sports. But … the Hornets are #JustGettingStarted!

2018 Football Quick Facts: Quarterback Kevin Thomson returns after his record breaking season. Thomson set the school record for yards per play last season as well as quarterback efficiency. He will be joined on offense by wide receivers Andre Lindsey and Jaelin Ratliff who finished first and second, respectively, in the FCS in yards per reception last season. The Hornet defense led the FCS with 43 sacks last season. The team returns eight starters from that defense. Safety Mister Harriel and defensive end George Obinna have both been named preseason FCS All-Americans. Both were first team all-Big Sky selections last season.
