The Great American River Cleanup

The Great American River Cleanup

Presented by American River Parkway Foundation at American River Parkway - William Pond Recreation Area

Join over 1,000 of your neighbors and participate in The Great American River Cleanup (GARCU)! GARCU is an annual even done in conjunction with the California Coastal Cleanup Day, a statewide movement that mobilizes volunteers throughout California to clean up trash from local beaches, lakes, and waterways.

During GARCU, the Sacramento community comes together and removes thousands of pounds of trash and debris from 20+ sites along the American River Parkway in only three hours.Volunteers last year were able to remove over 15,000 pounds of trash! With over 8 million visitors to the parkway yearly, this cleanup effort creates a much more enjoyable experience for tourists and community members alike and greatly benefits the Sacramento area as a whole.  Be sure to register your family and friends for this event and Take Pride in the Parkway!
