When Douglas Abrams organized a weeklong meeting between Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama, he had profound doubts about his role facilitating a conversation between the two iconic leaders. The result of those conversations, The Book of Joy, shows that the longtime author and editor was the perfect person to capture the shared compassionate, hopeful outlook of these two larger-than-life figures. Abrams will share his own insights as well as exclusive video of this historic meet-up in Dharamsala.
Especially moving for the Campus Community Book Project selection committee was the book’s potential for addressing mental health and well-being topics.
