People of Color Improv Space offers a unique opportunity for students who identify as POC to explore the comedic arts in a safe and nurturing environment. The Comedy Spot believes that a more diverse community is a stronger community. It is committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion, at all levels of its organization and wants all patrons to see themselves represented on its stage.

Each month will focus on a new theme with relevant exercises, co-lead by local improv instructors Justine Lopez and Betsaida LeBron. In addition to education, the workshop is a great way to have fun and interact with others in the community, and to learn more about applying for the diversity scholarships offered by the Sacramento Comedy Foundation.

Note: No prior experience necessary! Wear comfortable clothes, closed-toed shoes, and be prepared to move! Bring something to take notes, if desired.
