Sara Post's exhibit "Weather" and Kathy Manthei's exhibit "Elements" will be on display in October at the Sparrow Gallery.

Traveling with a camera, a sketchbook, and her imagination, Post records sense impressions. She prefers getting around on foot, taking time to note changes in light, form, and color as varying weather moves across land and water. In the studio these observations become abstract marks, shapes and color fields. “I’m looking for the feel of a place, a way to tell what you cannot say -- to suggest a place rather define it,” Post said.
