The paper-liner party is an essential, yet simple, way to prepare rehab caging from everyday household items. Laundry baskets lined with paper, binder clips and screen are the base that become individual and small group holding cages for injured, orphan and other wildlife recovering for release. Volunteers will make hundreds of pre-set cages that can be used immediately by need during the peak season for wildlife rehab at this two-hour, two-day volunteer event. Participate in one or both days!
When ready for flight testing, these critical recovery cages are left behind, as species are grouped in large pre-release aviaries to test their wings.
For more than 45 years, tens of thousands of creatures from hundreds of species were brought to the Wildlife Care Association of Sacramento for assistance in getting a second chance to live and return to the environment.
