Meet the Artist: Carlos Ramirez

Meet the Artist: Carlos Ramirez

Presented by Crocker Art Museum at Crocker Art Museum

Create alongside multi-media artist Carlos Ramirez, whose work is currently on view at the Crocker. Get to know this Coachella-based artist as you produce work inspired by his sculptures, collages, and paintings.

Coachella based artist Carlos Ramirez’ work is influenced by graffiti, sign paintings, tattoos, found objects and much more. Ramirez finds art materials during his treasure hunting trips to the desert. These ‘treasures’ along with discarded materials and house paint are combined in his sculptures, collage and paintings. Ramirez describes his new work, created outside the former collaborative The Date Farmers, as “more personal and intimate in the sense that all risk or reward, curse or blessing, is mine, and in whatever the subject matter may be, as I keep developing and evolving the subject matter or message.”

Bring found object treasures on your own or select from materials provided by the Museum.

Note: No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
