Jacob Lawrence was inspired by the poets and writers of the Harlem Renaissance. The evening will start with a brief overview of “History, Labor, Life: The Prints of Jacob Lawrence,” followed by honoring the artist through readings of works by Harlem Renaissance poets and original poems shared by participants.
