Comic Books: Beyond Heroes and Capes

Comic Books: Beyond Heroes and Capes

Presented by Crocker Art Museum at Crocker Art Museum

Expand your knowledge of comic book writing and illustration processes and techniques so you can bring your own comic book idea to life. All supplies will be provided, and participants will depart with comic books, basic illustration materials, and gift cards to local comic book shops.

Eben Burgoon is a fuzzy and ill-defined author and producer best known for a big fluffy beard and for penning several independent comic books. Eben is committed to spreading the love of creative expression in many mediums, but actively champions creative writing up and down the West Coast with a series of creative writing courses that has reached more than 2,000 budding writers. He is based in Sacramento with two wiener dogs, two cats, and a very special lady.

No experience is required unless noted. The Museum provides student-quality supplies included in the fee unless indicated otherwise. Students are welcome to bring their personal supplies; however there is no discount for doing so. Oil paints are not allowed in studio classrooms.
