Foundations is a class focused on whipping you into performer’s shape while strengthening your foundation of rhythm, projection and connection to your body for translation to stage.

Current, future, and non-performers are welcome -- this is an all level class (primarily beginning/intermediate), meant to be both physically and mentally challenging, so students of all backgrounds walk away feeling the sizzle! It is 100 percent A-okay (and expected) for you to listen to your body and take things at your own pace while still engaging and having fun with the group. The choreography portion of this class will change each week, exploring different elements of burlesque style performance while building an overarching catalog of movement you will be able to master and grow from with time.

Jay Siren has been an event producer, emcee, and burlesque performer for over a decade. Founding the troupe the Sizzling Sirens Burlesque Experience in 2008, she has performed and curated entertainment for stages from Sacramento to Las Vegas and beyond. In general, Jay believes that if you dream it you can do it in burlesque! Creating space for students to explore their sensuality, personality, and energy through the lens of burlesque entertainment has become one of the most fulfilling aspects of her career, and she looks forward to bringing that same ethic to Hot Pot Studios every Tuesday night!

Note: Due to the sensual nature of this style of performance, non-participant observers are strictly prohibited, to ensure the most comfortable and encouraging space for burlesque exploration possible. Any human Age 18+ that arrives with an open mind and willingness to let loose and sizzle is welcome to attend!
