Gerry O. Simpson (GOS) and Straight Out Scribes (SOS), launch a new series, Creative Minds, a gathering of artists of all kinds Uptown at the GOS Studio Art Gallery.

"Creative Minds", brainchild of Dr. V.S. Chochezi and Staajabu of the mother/daughter poetry team Straight Out Scribes, and Gerry O. Simpson, artist, designer, author, photographer and Gallery owner, will have featured presenters, open mic, community announcements, "Know Your Hood" a game for the audience for door prizes, plus healthy refreshments. The unique thing about this series is the feature each month will be one of the poetry anthologies that Straight Out Scribes has published, beginning with their first 1990 publication "Crucial Comments and Vicious Verses." The Scribes will recite some of their original pieces, tell the story of how the book was written, and published and answer questions about their creative process. Gerry Simpson will also present an art talk on one of the many forms of art he has mastered through the years and a different business on Del Paso Blvd. will be highlighted each month.
