Sacramento State New Millennium Concert Series: Telegraph Quartet

Sacramento State New Millennium Concert Series: Telegraph Quartet

Presented by CSU Sacramento (Sacramento State) and CapRadio at Sacramento State Music Recital Hall (Capistrano Hall)

Described by the San Francisco Chronicle in 2017 as “…an incredibly valuable addition to the cultural landscape” and “powerfully adept…with a combination of brilliance and subtlety,” the Telegraph Quartet was most recently awarded the prestigious 2016 Walter W. Naumburg Chamber Music Award. Past prizes include the Grand Prize at the 2014 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. The Telegraph Quartet gave its first Carnegie Hall appearance in Weill Recital Hall in 2015.

Their program features Antonin Dvořák’s warmhearted and pastoral String Quartet No. 10 in E-flat Major, Op. 51 "Slavonic”; Erwin Schulhoff’s Five Pieces for string quartet, a collection of eclectic dances; and Mieczyslaw Weinberg’s bold yet elusive String Quartet No. 6, Op. 35.
