Fiber artist Roxanne Young will take you through the process of designing and dyeing a set of four cotton dinner napkins. She will talk about scouring, mordanting, and modifying the colors and different tie dye techniques. The beauty of this craft is that you get to add beautiful shades of pinks, purples, and grays to fabric by using the byproduct of a delicious and nutritious food.
You will be given a step-by-step guide to take home with you to try the project again to revive an old garment or add color to a new piece.
Roxanne has been working in the fiber arts for many years, beginning with her obsession with crochet in 2004. After having her son in 2013, she began working with coiling and weaving necklaces and wall hangings with conventionally dyed yarn, as well as creating her own dyed yarn with procion and plant dye. She also creates one of a kind herbal art to wear to inspirit the everyday.
