The Artery presents "Quilting Arts: Not Just for Beds" showcasing the quilting art of Artery member Connie Taxiera with guests Kathleen Hart, Mara Lindsay, Kay Pearson, Anna Raber, Pat Shopher. The reception coincides with International Women's Day, celebrating women's achievements. Quilting is a art form that has been passed down through generations, and these six women artists illustrate how this art is perfect for the current age.

Connie Taxiera asked her five friends to join her in this show. Although they have been quilting together for over twenty years, this will be their first show as a group. On days when everyone is sewing together, their space looks like a tornado blew through, with all the machines, fabrics, and paraphernalia filling a room. Connie will show twenty-five collaged, rainbow-colored fabric flowers, as well as wall-hung quilts. Over 75 individual quilted pieces -- for the walls, tables, and beds -- will fill the gallery. This quilting extravaganza demonstrates the rich diversity of this art. These masterpieces can brighten many rooms in many ways.
