Kingsley Art Club Lecture Series: Lisa Reinertson

Kingsley Art Club Lecture Series: Lisa Reinertson

Presented by Kingsley Art Club at Crocker Art Museum

Ceramic sculptor and public artist Lisa Reinertson will share the journey of her career in art. This narrative will begin with her student days at UC Davis and the notorious TB-9 in the early 1980s, where she began exploring large-scale figurative ceramic sculptures with a focus on women and nature. It will continue on to her work on large-scale bronze public commission with historic and socially-conscious content such as her several full-size figures on Martin Luther King and the sculpture of Cesar Chavez in Plaza Park in front of City Hall. She will conclude with her more recent work, which addresses our relationship and concerns for the life on our planet.

This is part of the annual speakers series put on by the Kingsley Art Club, the oldest art club in the west. Each of the talks are held in the Crocker Art Museum auditorium.
