Gold Spike Lecture: The Transcontinental as a Business Venture

Gold Spike Lecture: The Transcontinental as a Business Venture

Presented by Sacramento History Museum at California State Railroad Museum

Winner of a MacArthur Fellowship and the Parkman Prize, Richard White will present an interesting lecture on the Transcontinental Railroad from a business perspective. White is also a Margaret Byrne Professor of American History at Stanford University and author of Railroaded: The Transcontinentals and the Making of Modern America.

Timed to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad, the Sacramento History Museum -- in partnership with the California State Railroad Museum, Center for Sacramento History, and the Crocker Art Museum -- is proud to present the Gold Spike Lecture Series that will take place April through September 2019.
