Creativity Plus: Reinvention

Creativity Plus: Reinvention

Presented by Creativity+ at Warehouse Artist Lofts

They're at it again, the second take in the Creativity+ Reinvention speaker series will continue to explore the vast and varied perspectives of reinvention within the creative process.

Reinvention challenges us to defy preconceived notions, to know something well enough to break it apart and build it back up, or to find an alternate perspective richer in curiosity, creativity, and criticism. Steven Pierce and Sonya Bradley will share their spin on the topic.

First up -- Steven Pierce of the Groundlings Theatre! Pierce began performing with the renowned Groundlings Theatre in Los Angeles in 1996. Numerous comedic careers have been launched at the Groundlings that went on to Saturday Night Live including Will Farrell, Phil Hartman, Jon Lovitz, Will Forte, Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and many others.

Steven joined their main company in 1999 and has taught improvisation, directed sketch and improv and conduced corporate training for over 10 years. He has served on the Groundlings board of directors and the school's steering committee. He has appeared in numerous commercials, television shows and films and has performed with actors such as Will Farrell, Will Forte, Michael McDonald, Will Smith, Martin Sheen as well as recent Academy Award winners Kristen Wiig, Octavia Spencer and Emmy winner Mellissa McCarthy.

Next up -- Sonya Bradley of Visit Sacramento! Sonya is the Chief Marketing Officer for Visit Sacramento and its family of brands: America's Farm to Fork Capital, Sacramento Sports Commission, Sacramento365, Film Sacramento and Sac Event Crew. The cool sounding part of the job is that she is constantly seeking the best way to share the Sacramento story with visitors wherever they are in their visitation journey.

The business-speak sounds like this: she is responsible for the development and execution of the brand, campaign and content strategies and tactics that create demand for Sacramento as a convention, tourism, meeting, sports and events destination. Cool and business-like is how she’d like to think of herself. But mostly, she’s just a marketing nerd.
