Slaven Ranch in Zamora will host the 2019 Zamora Hills Sheepdog Trials with some of the world’s greatest sheepdogs competing in this USBCHA (United States Border Collie Handler’s Association) sanctioned event. Matchbook is just 1 mile up the road and the perfect spot to enjoy a picnic and wine tasting after watching the trials.
Zamora’s Dunnigan Hills have a rich history of farming and ranching. The Slaven family has called the Dunnigan Hills home since the late 1800’s. They’ve hosted this event for over two decades, with their course earning a reputation as one of the most difficult in North America for competing border collies. The Giguiere family are 5th generation farmers and have been growing grapes and making wine in the Dunnigan Hills for over 30 years.
Spectators are invited to attend the trials and are encouraged to bring binoculars and chairs. Pets are not recommended.
