Inspired by the avant-garde techniques of artist Richard Jackson, this class places the emphasis on process before product. Students will experiment, explore, and will assemble recycled materials to make a sculpture that moves and creating “accidental” abstract paintings.
About the instructor:
Erin Juneau has a Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in K-12 art education. Her reverence for nature and love of the outdoors has brought her to Sacramento, which inspire her choice of subjects. Erin’s influences come from her interest in thrown pottery, observational drawing, knitting, and mixed media. She works in her studio to create thrown ceramics while she applies the strengths of her medium to achieve rich matte surfaces and vibrant organic forms.
