Join for the debut of two of the newest works covering the Central and Southern Pacific Railroads and the contributions of Chinese Americans to the Transcontinental Railroad as Mary Helmich presents A Legacy in Brick and Iron: Sacramento’s Central and Southern Pacific Railroad Shops, written by Helmich and Kevin V. Bunker (FYA Publications, 2019) and Professor Hilton Obenzinger of Stanford University presents The Chinese and the Iron Road, written by Obenzinger, Gordon H. Chang, Shelley Fisher Fishkin, and Roland Hsu (Stanford University, 2019).

The program will be accompanied by a lobby display provided by the US-China Railroad Friendship Association.
