Finding the Muse-ic Within

Finding the Muse-ic Within

Presented by Sac Poetry at The Brickhouse Gallery and Art Complex

In honor of National Poetry Month, join us for this free community event presented by Sac Poetry! Join us at The Brickhouse Art Gallery for discussions/workshops as poets and musicians explore how music and songwriting can help us cultivate the poet within. Plus, discover how our inner poet can be our best self-care.

Schedule includes:
-2pm: Chris Jones, Sacramento musician and songwriter, will discuss what poets can learn from music and songwriters.
-3pm: Leah Savage, Sacramento author and co-director of the Living Well Community Foundation, will share how poetry liberates, heals and informs our identities.
-4pm: Sue Daly, Sacramento poet, will discuss how you can find your voice through poetry. She’ll cover finding inspiration, first drafts/revisions, submitting poems for publication, local writing froups/open mics and other tips to help your poetry sparkle!
-5pm: Shaun Parker and Malik Hill from the Free Game Podcast, will discuss experiences they’ve had, how Sacramento is a strong community of growing talent and artistry. They will also expand their discussion into how poets can brand and market themselves on social media, and offer a Q&A.
