Through the month of June, Sparrow Gallery is featuring the incredible mixed media pieces by Sacramento artist, Steve Wiget. Inspired by the found objects he collects on his trips to the beach and hiking trails, a mixture of organic materials (such as mussel shells and driftwood) with man-made materials (electrical wires and broken ceramic pieces), to create on conversation about the state of our environment. Steve Wiget’s art reflects a variety of media and techniques. Subject matter ranges from the figurative, still life, landscape, and most recently, seascapes. He specializes in charcoal and pastel though often he uses mixed media. Steve has studied under many of Sacramento’s treasured artists; Gregory Kondos, Larry Welden, Fred Dalkey, and Darrell Forney. His work has been commissioned and collected locally and internationally.
