Summer SOUL-Stice Blues Party

Summer SOUL-Stice Blues Party

Presented by Sacramento Blues Society at Harris Center for the Arts

It's a Saturday SOUL-stice Party! The 12 twelve-piece Wee Willie Walker and the Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra epitomize the time-honored, authentic spirit of American Soul Music.

Wee Willie Walker is the stellar septuagenarian soul singer whose recordings go back to the Goldwax label out of Memphis in the late 1960s. He was "rediscovered" in 2015. After A While, is his new album with the powerhouse Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra from San Francisco. Together they work magic with originals and classics that compellingly recreate the sensational sounds of the blues, R&B, and soul from the prime era of the '50s to the '70s.  With five 2018 Blues Music Award nominations, a# 7 rank in the 2018 Top 10 Critics Poll (Downbeat Magazine) and a feature in The San Francisco Chronicle, Wee Willie Walker was also awarded Most Outstanding Male Blues Singer, 2018 by Living Blues Magazine. Walker’s voice is nothing shy of a soul-defining epiphany.

Few vocalists own the stage like Terrie Odabi. When the statuesque Oakland, California native begins to sing, a hush falls over the audience. They’re about to take us on ride through Deep Blue Soul music.
