Of Land and Sea

Presented by ACAI Gallery & Studios at Allied Ceramics Art Institute Studios and Gallery (ACAI Studios & Gallery)

Michael R. Nelson has received recognition and honors for First Place and Best of Show at local art exhibits for his landscape and seascape paintings. He was represented for several years by the Center and Seaside Galleries in Hawaii. His artwork is currently on display at the prestigious Carlyle Military Museum in Pennsylvania. He works in oil, his works are vivid precise and realistic.

Jeanette Morrow’s sculptures are based on images of women and animals that resonate with her visually, emotionally or spiritually. "Working with clay is very rewarding, not only for its tactile properties but also for the process of watching the artwork within it emerge." Whether it is vessels, plates, wall hangings, or sculpture, Jeannette creates each masterfully.

Eric Struck said "Form is the most important to me when I make my pots." He strives for perfection in the forms he creates. He prefers bold simple shapes. Each piece is hand thrown on the potter’s wheel using clay bodies that he formulates. Most of his work lately is pit-fired, the most ancient of firing methods.

Meet the artists during the reception, which will also feature music by Daniel Roest.
