School-aged children are invited to read aloud to trained therapy dogs, accompanied by volunteers from the Lend-A-Heart Association. This is a wonderful program for reluctant readers -- the dogs are great listeners.
On the first Tuesday of each month, children may bring their own reading material or borrow books from the library collection. If you arrive early, please come into the library and enjoy the children's area, filled with toys, books, computer games, and more! The Sacramento Public Library is committed to providing the community with free, quality events for people of all ages.
