The July series features James Lee Jobe, the fourth Poet Laureate of Davis. His two-year term lasts until September 2020. In addition to hosting the ongoing Davis Arts Center Poetry Series, James has completed five chapbooks including What God Said When She Finally Answered Me and Red Skelton’s Ghost. Jobe’s poems have been published in magazines, journals, and anthologies spanning several decades. He is a student of Zen Buddhism and is on the Board of Directors of a Davis homeless shelter. Davis has been his home for more than twenty years.
