The Great American River Clean-Up (GARCU) is the American River Parkway Foundation's largest annual cleanup. There are 20+ cleanup sites from Discovery Park to Negro Bar, plus an on-river option for those with kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards.

Many of the sites are family-friendly, so feel free to bring the kids along for a morning of volunteering out on the Parkway!

GARCU removes mass amounts of debris from the Parkway in just a few hours, making the Parkway a more enjoyable and safe space, protecting the river ecosystem, and improving water quality.
