The Davis Turkey Trot is a longstanding Davis tradition. Each year, the event is held on the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving to kick off the holiday weekend with some exercise and camaraderie. With five events, there is a distance for everyone. The two-mile run or walk is noncompetitive and perfect for those looking to dip their toes into participating, or walk with their dog, strollers, etc. The 5K race is a 3.1 mile route that sees both fast winning times as well as the casual jogger; all athletic abilities are welcome and encouraged. For those looking for a longer route, there is also a 10K (6.2 miles) and a Half Marathon (13.1 miles). Kids Ages 12 and under are invited to the Kids Fun Runs, which include a 1 mile, 1/2 mile, 1/4 mile and the 400 yard toddler trot (Ages 0-4 years).
