As has happened for the past 19 years, 9 pre-selected playwrights will meet on Saturday morning, September 7 to receive this year’s “theme” from Festival Director Luther Hanson. After being informed who will be their director and actors, each playwright will then leave to write their 10-minute play which must incorporate the “theme” as it strikes them. That evening, the playwrights will deliver their respective plays to their director, and the next morning rehearsal begins.

For the following 7 hours each of the 9 plays will be rehearsed, memorized, staged, and then performed for an audience only once beginning on Sunday, September 8. Besides the nine playwrights, the festival includes nine directors, approximately 70 actors, and numerous theatre technicians
