October Open Garden at the Horticulture Center

Presented by UCCE Master Gardeners of Sacramento County at Fair Oaks Horticulture Center

Open Garden days are informal events with Master Gardeners available in all areas of the garden. It is a great opportunity to peruse the garden at your own pace and ask lots of questions.

The Master Gardeners 2020 Gardening Guide and Calendar will be available for $10.

UCCE Master Gardeners will hold a mini-demonstration on Putting the Vineyard to Bed for the Winter.

On-going demonstrations:
-Selecting Bulbs for Dramatic Garden Displays at the Water Efficient Landscape Garden.
-Removing Spent Annuals, Pruning Perennials and More at the Herb Project Area.
-Fertilizing and Controlling Soil pH with Sulfur at the Berry Project Area.
-Winter Protection for Edible Tropicals and Citrus at the Orchard Project Area.
-Using Cover Crops to Replenish the Soil at the Vegetable Project Area.
-Turning, Sifting, and Building the Pile for Good, Healthy Compost at the Compost Project Area.

Located outside -- rain or shine.
