Intro to Encaustic Workshop

Intro to Encaustic Workshop

Presented by Verge Center for the Arts at Verge Center for the Arts

All materials would be supplied. Students would receive information on safety, tools, and 4.5 hours of hands-on instruction. They would finish four projects and receive a packet of written material including a comprehensive resource list. It’ll be a creative day with students leaving confident in this ancient and luminous medium.

Linda grew up in California’s Bay Area. Her art journey began with collage and moved through seasons of acrylic and watercolor. Linda has worked with encaustic and mixed media for the last thirteen years. Her contemporary work brings narratives to life’s fault lines. She works primarily on cradled wood panels using layer upon layer of bee’s wax and resin which can include up to 30 other media. Her work has been shown throughout California as well as Dallas and Santa Fe.

Linda is an award-winning artist and dedicated member of the Sacramento art community. Her work moves from abstract to surreal, achieving an overall detailed, sometimes solitary storyline. You may recognize topics of faith, elements of home, the human condition and, at times, a little foolishness. Linda’s art degree is from CSU, Sacramento. She works from her studio in Rancho Cordova, California where she lives with her husband and a narcissistic, Jewish-Portuguese feline named Ira Solomon Nunes.
