Join Friends of Sutter's Fort as they team up with California State Parks to present a special two-night, family-friendly event allowing you to explore the spooky nooks and creepy crannies of Sutter's Fort -- one of Sacramento's oldest settings -- completely after dark!
Stroll the storied rooms and weathered courtyards of Sutter's Fort looking for fun, Halloween-themed, hands-on activities teaching you about life in the 1800s, including death and survival on the California frontier. Who knows, you may even see a friendly wayward spirit or two.
Activities include turnip carving (the original Jack-O-Lanterns), creepy campfire stories, sugar skull mask making, and more!
No food or beverages other than water are allowed inside Sutter's Fort. All proceeds from Haunted Fort support the ongoing efforts of Friends of Sutter's Fort, which works to preserve, protect, and enhance Sutter's Fort State Historic Park and to support the educational and interpretative programs at the park.
