Best Practices for an Artrepreneur

Best Practices for an Artrepreneur

Presented by California Lawyers for the Arts at Sierra 2 Center and 24th Street Theatre

Many artists feel like they have two sides: creators who have the skills to bring something tangible into the world -- your strong suit -- and the business side -- where you're less confident and sure of yourself.

In this workshop, you will be discussing the Artrepreneur, the individual who can both create and also make a living from it. Learn how to take basic business principles and apply them to what you love to do. This workshop will touch on some of the roles you will have to take on, (Artist, Brand Manager, Business Manager, Financial Manager), some simple behaviors you can apply right away, how to set expectations, how to clearly define your product, set and meet goals, and much more! Learn to fuse the artist and entrepreneur in you!

Over the last 10 years, Scott Halvorson and his wife Dana have managed to find purpose through photography, and build a successful business together along the way. They own Urban Vision Studios and Weddings by Scott and Dana. Their wedding images have been featured in print magazines and on some of the most popular wedding blogs, but more importantly, they have delivered thousands of images to satisfied brides and grooms.
