Symphony d’Oro Rancho Cordova, Pete Nowlen, conductor and music director, presents its free and most innovative concert yet -- Earth -- celebrating the majesty, power, and mystery of our planet. You'll go through the primal, mysterious sounds of Deborah Pittman’s solo Native American flute in "Lake That Speaks" from James DeMars’ Two World Concerto and the powerful and percussive "Burning" (world premiere) by local composer Ryan Suleiman, to the beautiful sounds of the natural world found in Edvard Grieg's "Morgenstimmen" and Beethoven's beloved 6th "Pastoral" Symphony.
This free Symphony d'Oro concert benefits Rancho Cordova’ Whisker Warriors' efforts in animal search and rescue. Whisker Warriors, a non-profit dedicated to reducing feline, canine, and rabbit overpopulation, specifically through spay/neuter and education, recently succeeded in reuniting several Camp Fire victims with their lost four-footed family members.
