Static Motion

Static Motion

Presented by CSU Sacramento (Sacramento State) at CSU Sacramento (Sacramento State)

Nicholas Hernandez will be displaying “An evolution of textural experimentation that encourages engagement through layers of dimension and color,” in the upcoming art exhibition, Static Motion.

In an interview with the University Union at Sac State, Nicholas released some very potent and inspirational messages about his artwork and process. When asked what drew him to want to be an artist, Nicholas responded: “Art has always been something that gave me joy and purpose in life since I was a child. I loved that I could imagine something and make it a reality though painting or drawing.”

Nicholas also relinquished that what inspired the name Static Motion was “the busy hectic world of social media and how our minds are in motion always looking down browsing, working, liking, commenting, editing, etc., but our bodies are in a static state.”

When prompted with the question of what morals his exhibit are meant to tell, he stated: “I do have many pieces that have “Self Reflection” statements that question the audience’s own life and really engage them to be a part of the piece itself. The vibe of the entire show is to uplift the audience with positivity and inspire.”

To tie it all together, Nicholas expressed that he wants his audience “to think about who they are and where they are going in their own journey,” through his exhibit.

The reception for Static Motion will take place in the Gallery, located on the 2nd floor of the University Union. The exhibit, along with its reception, is open to the general public. Attendants are welcome to meet the artist and enjoy appetizers provided at the event.
