Trust Your Struggle (TYS) artist collective celebrates sixteen years of existence here in Sacramento. TYS collective will be welcoming new members, as well as honoring our elders in this exhibition at Sol Collective.

This exhibition will highlight past works that have been created with various communities throughout the world, as well as new individual works by collective members. Showcasing the tradition of mural painting grounded in social movements, TYS will create a visual timeline display including photography, paintings, video installations and historic prints of select artworks. A new mural on the front of Sol Collective will also be unveiled as part of this exhibition.

A series of public programs will accompany the exhibition incorporating cultural dialogue with collective members and community leaders, mural workshops, and more. More information and dates on public programs coming soon.

There will be a panel discussion on the intersection of art and activism on November 16 from 6pm-10pm. There will be a panel prior to the reception.

This exhibition allows TYS to share their methods of collective and collaborative strategies. Their intent is to inspire local tactics and international solidarity and to display their cultural growth and longevity in the visual movement here in Sacramento and worldwide.
