Intro to Pointed Pen Calligraphy

Intro to Pointed Pen Calligraphy

Presented by Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association at Sierra 2 Center and 24th Street Theatre

Did you know that you don’t need to have good handwriting to make beautiful calligraphy? This is an introductory beginner class where you will learn the basics of modern pointed pen calligraphy, a form of calligraphy that uses a nib and ink to create elegant fine-pointed letters as you often see on wedding envelopes, etc.

This workshop will focus on traditional alphabets and learning the foundation of strokes. In addition, just in time for the holidays, you will create a fun project for your Thanksgiving table. All supplies will be provided in addition to materials for your practice at home. Your take-home kit includes guide sheets, pen, nib, ink and ink dish.

Hillary is a calligrapher and lettering artist living in Sacramento. She has run a thriving calligraphy business since 2010 working locally and with clients all over the country. In addition to hand calligraphy, she also enjoys painting signs and exploring other forms of lettering art. Most of her days are spent caring for her 2 children and creating unique lettering art.
