In this yearly commemoration of one of the worst genocides of the 20th century, the Ukrainian Heritage Club of Northern California will show the movie Hunger for the Truth. This is the story of Rhea Clyman, a young journalist who travels to the Soviet Union to witness the unfolding of Stalin's man-made famine in Ukraine. While her colleagues ignore or obfuscate the true nature of the famine, she bravely reports it and suffers the consequences. The film relates that history with events that are going on in present day Ukraine.
