Sacramento Valley Concert Choir fills the Capitol Rotunda with holiday harmony! SVCC is delighted to mark its 50th Holiday Season with a return to the California State Capitol Holiday Music Program, held in the festive and resonant Rotunda! SVCC’s "Simple Holiday Joys" concert captures symbols of the season with a repertoire ranging from joyous to wistful, light-hearted to reverential, including “Angel’s Carol,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Jingle Bells,” “Pat-a-Pan Noel,” “Erev Shel Shoshanim,” “The Sleigh,” and others, ending with the ever-breathtaking Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.” Free and open to the public.
SVCC is a not-for-profit, self-supporting, secular choir of volunteers led by professionals. In May 2019, the California Legislative Assembly awarded Resolutions to the choir, Artistic Director, and Accompanist, noting that for 50 years SVCC has “enhanced civic pride, the quality of life, and the performing arts throughout the Sacramento region.” The choir is honored by the recognition and looks forward to singing another 50 years!
