Join for a Second Saturday event featuring River City Marketplace's local artists -- Xavier Ortiz!

Xavier is a traditional watercolor artist born and raised in Sacramento. He attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco for traditional animation and storyboarding. His paintings often convey internal conflict through color, environment, and the body language of figures. His work is heavily inspired from his love of history, movies and film photography. He currently shows his art around the states at shows like Monsterpalooza, DesignerCon, and large comic/anime conventions as well as selective local events in town or in the Bay Area. He also shows at galleries like The Dark Art Emporium in Long Beach, the Mystic Museum in Burbank, and was featured on the online gallery, Every Day Original. In his free time, he works on two personal comics titled “Pumpkin Guard” and “Nocturminal” as well as a short story about a three eyed mystical cat and a nuisance ghost rat.
