Tai chi is gentle yet very effective exercise. Although it is slow and gentle and doesn't leave you breathless, it addresses the key components of fitness — muscle strength, flexibility, balance, and, to a lesser degree, aerobic conditioning. This class is a compliment to high intensity workouts or sedentary lifestyle. It will help to prevent injury and balance your stressful life. Do not let the slow and gentle workout fool you from how strong you can become by doing tai chi.
In this low-impact, slow-motion exercise, you go without pausing through a series of motions named for animal actions. As you move, you breathe deeply and naturally, focusing your attention — as in some kinds of meditation — on your bodily sensations.
Improve relaxation and harmony. Enjoy learning an art that you can continue to grow and progress. Increase muscular strength, fitness, and flexibility. Enjoy a community of tai chi friends. Improve balance and confidence.
Note: Please wear loose fitting clothing; supportive tennis shoes or no shoes are ok.
