Post Modern Impression will be on view at Gallery 1075 inside the West Sacramento Community Center.
Kevin Johnson is talented in capturing many subjects from portraits to landscapes. This exhibition will focus mostly on his works about nature. The scenes Johnson captures become paintings in his perspective, initially real, and then made into an abstract form. For the moment, Johnson’s painting are almost relief sculptures on canvas. Using a palette knife, Johnson now compiles imagery, not just of paint, but also of stones, sand, paper, and occasionally found objects. Johnson's visual art has been influenced by Vincent van Gogh and Salvador Dalí, alike in their unique views of and creation of scenes. That same uniqueness and thoughtfulness carries over into Johnson’s work.
Johnson returned to painting in 2005, but he has been a creative all his life, as an actor and a visual artist. His work, both artistically and theatrically can be found in the greater Sacramento area and beyond.
