Fidget Blanket Workshop (North Natomas)

Fidget Blanket Workshop (North Natomas)

Presented by Sacramento Public Library and Alzheimer's Association Northern California and Northern Nevada at North Natomas Library

The Sacramento Public Library presents Healthy Living for your Brain and Body, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association. You’ll learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity, and social engagement to create a plan for healthy aging.

After the presentation, participants will create their own lap-size fidget blanket, a great tool to provide sensory and tactile stimulation to those affected by Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia. No need to bring anything! This grant-funded program will provide all of the supplies you’ll need to create your own fidget blanket, including sewing machines, fabric, and “fidget items” (zippers, buttons, clips, etc). Though the design and construction is up to you, a sewing instructor will be on-site to provide assistance.

Experience with basic sewing techniques is preferred, but not required.
